How do we put an end to our fears?

Our fears end when we realize that all our feelings are internal; an object, person or action that produces a feeling of fear, cannot really touch or affect us, other than how we perceive it through us. This may seem like just a detail but a true understanding of this idea supresses our fears because we understand that everything that appears on the outside, in this world, is projected by our own selves. Every time we are a little more aware of this reality, freedom from our fears increases.

What is an illusion? Is it not also something real? Does illusion not possess some kind of truth in of itself?

An illusion is not clear-cut, concise or permanent. Any authenticity that we give an illusion can only be temporary. This attribution has a beginning and an ending. What has no Essence only consists of a name and shape projected by our minds. When we truly examine and understand how these unrealities come to be, our minds cease accepting them as truths. Our minds then engage on a path leading to a higher truth; a reality that surpasses anything that can be expressed by words or is composed of shapes.

How can we free ourselves from our egotistical needs?

It’s through a continuous analysis, and understanding, of the real motives for our actions that we can then eliminate these egotistical needs. By trying to identify, with great awareness, what causes us to act in these egotistical ways, our behaviour then changes gradually and better reflects the true nature of our spiritual essence.
